Been a While
By jacki on November 9, 2012
It’s been a while. I have been so busy with the normal every day grind and trying to find time to shoot that I have not had time to blog. Over the summer Kim and I attended another workshop at the Triple D in Montana and had a really great time – and really got some great images! Then in August, the family and I headed out to Alaska for a vacation. That is the second time I have been to Alaska and I wish I could have just stayed. GORGEOUS! If you ever have a chance to go to Alaska – GO!!!
I have been trying to get some Macro done as well – and teach Ben as well. He actually likes macro! And then Fall…so as you can see I have been really busy.
Next up is a trip in January with Ben to a workshop in Minnesota with Jim Zuckerman. I am really looking forward to shooting with Jim and having him do some work on Ben’s images. He seems to get inspired by other photographers teaching him things!
I did upload a lot of new images to the galleries over the past few nights – enjoy!
Black Bear workshop getting close!
By jacki on February 21, 2012
We are about three weeks out from our next workshop. On March 11 we will be photographing Black Bear cubs outside in the woods at Grand Bear Lodge in Utica, IL. This is a private photo shoot to get up and close and personal with these bear cubs. At this time of year they have also had other babies like Wolf pups and bobcat kittens. We will be updated a little closer to the date of the babies that have arrived! The cost of this workshop is $125.00 with a $50.00 deposit required to hold your spot. We have 8 spots left and going quickly!
The last Summerfield trip was amazing!!! We had a great time photographing Oden and Aurora the wolves, Betty the groundhog, the reindeer and especially Mia the Lynx! Thanks to Tammy for a great trip and we look forward to another workshop in April!

Sporting dog Trip
By jacki on December 9, 2011
Ben and I are leaving on Sunday morning to head to a gun dog breeder in Springfield – this person raises several different breeds of gun dogs. We are going to photograph the dogs working on the hunt. We are really looking forward to this. They are going to be able to use the images on their website and we are going to be able to use the images at our outdoor shows coming up in 2012. What a great trade out!
If you know of anyone that raises animals that they would like to have photographed – send them our way and we can trade out some services! Photos of this trip will be coming soon.

Change to Summerfield Trip
By jacki on September 26, 2011
We have some exciting news for our upcoming Summerfield Trip in October. We have decided to make some changes to the schedule. Originally we planned on our workshop being Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th. We have reduced the amount of days – we will only be going to this workshop on Saturday, October 8th.
We will be doing 3 animals in the morning and 3 different animals in the afternoon. One 3 hour session is just $200.00. (or both sessions for $375) This will include one of the following: Cougar Cub, Wolf Pup, Canadian Lynx, Ring Tailed Lemur, Verbit Monkeys or Reindeer AND two of the following: Wallaby, Arctic Fox, Betty the Ground Hog, Emu, Camel, or Tortoise. (possibly young alligator)
If you are interested in this workshop with the new date and prices – please email me ASAP. I will also like to get your preference on what animals you would like to photograph. This is an amazing opportunity to get hands on and close up encounters with these amazing exotics!

Our first Browns Zoo Photo Workshop is planned for Saturday, November 5 at 9am. The zoo is located south west of Peoria, Illinois. We will be photographing adult animals at the zoo including white tigers, barbary lions, mountain lions and wolves. BUT…we will have hands on, out of the cage shots of tiger cubs and lion cubs. You will be close enough to these cubs to be able to touch them! This is a great opportunity that you can’t get in a zoo. $125.00 for the day – it will not be a full day’s workshop – we should be done by 1pm at the latest. We will be taking a $50.00 deposit to hold your spot with the remaining $75.00 due on the workshop day. Only 5 spots left – email me to reserve your spot today!

Our first show was a success. It was a very hot couple of days, but we ended on a great note – selling 60 images! Our next show is in three weeks. We will be at Boggio’s Craft Show in Granville, Illinois on September 24 and 25th.
Upcoming Workshop!
By jacki on August 26, 2011
Kim and I will be having another workshop coming up at the end of October or 1st of November. We will be heading down to Browns Oakridge Zoo for a private photo session with their animals. Currently they have a tiger cub, mountain lion cubs, bobcat cubs, lemur babies and they are expecting lion cubs very soon. This will be a great opportunity to get some shots of these great animals, have your picture taken with them, and help out the zoo. The workshop will be $125.00 for the day. We would have to arrive early in the morning and should be done with the babies by about noon, with the option to stay and photograph the rest of the adult animals in the zoo. As soon as we have a date – I will post it here. We are heading down there on Sunday to do our 1st shoot so I will post photos soon!
South Pond
By jacki on August 9, 2011
A trip to South Pond and Lincoln Park Zoo this past weekend happened to yield sightings of several juvenile Black Capped Night Herons that have been made news in the birding world this past spring. We didn’t spot any adults, but there were over 5 juveniles in the area that day, along with a Green Heron and a few other duck species including the Ruddy and a female Wood Duck. All in all – a good birding day for Kim and I. We will be going back again in the near future with Ben and hopefully we will get to see the adult night herons!
